Tougher Than a Bullet with Deserae Turner
This week I had the privilege to interview Deserae Turner. Des was shot and left for dead by who she thought were "close friends" near a canal in Smithfield utah almost 4 years ago. She was found 8 or so hours later and immediately rushed to the hospital where she would stay for the next 60 days recovering and having multiple surgeries to help her brain as it was swelling from the trauma caused by the bullet entering her skull. She was in a coma for the first couple of weeks and was in excruciating pain from all of this. The unthinkable act committed by these teenagers has had a very dramatic impact on the Turner family and I still have a hard time believing that someone could do something like this. With that being said, Des has a very positive outlook and continues to find things to do that make her happy. I am excited for you to listen to her as she just gives a glimpse into what life has been like for her since the incident. Thanks for joining us this week, I hope you enjoy.
